This is an "EVOLVING WIP PIC" of my next deviation. (So far: 3,500 knots...and counting.... 400 beads and counting...) it is the subject of the following contest:

:bulletblue: CONTEST: WHAT IS IT? :bulletblue:

:bulletpurple: CLUES
:bulletgreen: First Clue: It's closely related to an earlier theme in a piece posted by me in macramé..."... elementary, my dear friend..." said
:bulletgreen: Second Clue: Rackham flatly tried, as did Bill....but in the round.... now it's my turn...? "... elementary, my dear friend "
:bulletgreen: Third Clue: "It's aaa kiiiind of magic!"....
:bulletgreen: Fourth Clue: "You may have seen this on Josephines wall?...it's elementary"
:bulletgreen: Bonus "midweek" (5+5a) Clue: "Candlelight" and "A Mandala" play their part...." "... elementary, my dear "
:bulletgreen: Sixth* Clue (See note below): "You can't fire them": or can you? a contradiction? confusing, oh probably....!
:bulletgreen: Seventh Clue: "c'mon guy's it's easy-pea-sy..like a walk in the park...!
:bulletgreen: Bonus Clue Seven-point-five: Think!: .................................................................this-->(?) is to ---> (?) as pixies are to Santa..... he he! now that's punny!
:bulletgreen: Eighth*(see also: "Sixth Clue note" ) Clue: Bill took us for a walk in the woods to meet... quite late..."
:bulletgreen: Ninth Clue: "The Night's Long gone.. but nonetheless in song we'll verse it!, and reverse it if our ears tell well the tale...."
:bulletgreen: Tenth Clue: "
:bulletpurple: Prize: +250 pts + Journal feature

:bulletpurple: Deadline:
When the first person gets the answer / or: I finish the deviation and Post it, at which point, I shall either update my current journal with the "alert (+watch) watchers" selected... or create a new journal if it's that time again..., and insert the fact in my Journal (+ "Journal Contents" header) Prob October 31st if possible... or failing that, in November sometime.... Probably to celebrate 0ne year of being "Nicotine-free" having stopped...very abruptly! ...via "cold-turkey" on Nov 28th 2012....
:bulletpurple: Who can enter the contest:
Anyone who comments on this deviation with a guess....

:bulletpurple: Entry Procedure:
If your comment guess is your entry to the contest: insert: "Entry" or "Guess" as part of sentence in your comment ...Easy Peasy!...Right?.....right!

:bulletpurple: How Many Comments /Guesses are we allowed:
As many as you like... check other peoples attempts and my replies tho' first...., naturally...;)

*:bulletgreen: Important Notes:
There will be a slightly more revealing pic and clue sometime on Sat / Sunday each week via "update" on this same deviation as well as, perhaps...to help..a little... bonus clue(s) inserted obliquely in my Journal, articles for #projecteducate and here in this "Artist's Description" box... ([3rd ||Sep||2013] new insert/clue ): .....like the fact that from now on, any correctly identified clue mentioned in a comment by a deviant on this page will be indicated by the addition of one word, then two then three, in correct order L-R, as more clues are solved from the following phrase, (appropriate.. don't you think?....):

"... elementary, my dear friend..." said Sherlock Holmes to Doctor Watson..."

to the appropriate clue above........thus the set of clues will appear weirder and more enigmatic-looking as clue-solving progresses... :)</b>

*(not to be vocalised by those a touch inebriated and using this as a fun!, but silly party game... I heard that innuendo of a description by the way!.... be sensitive in public.. yeah?....;) P. )

used 4,200 knots...and counting....
taken 28 pictures...and counting
threaded on 475 beads and counting...
had 1 string cut in left 2nd finger, (that finger's always been a bit zealous....), ... and trying not to count!... ouch! didn't do anything with lemon juice for days, the lemon meringue pie was: before I cut it....

drunk:1/2 bottle Peach Schnapps, 14 x Pernod, 84 x tea, 17x coffee 5 litres Posh Orangeade, 4litres non-posh lemonade (so no "initial caps"), 7 pints of milk, ditto pure water,

1 walk in the rain,
3 taxi rides
2 trips to my local computer spare parts shop
6 films (1 Japanese, 2 USA, 1 Polish, 1 French, 1 English for details see bottom of this section on contests)

Clue 2: Is this in reference to Bill Rackham miniatures and the various games associated with them?  Or is it Rackham Fairy Tale art and illustrations?
Clue 4: We established this is the artist and her fantastical work related to dreams, magic and fantasy.
Clue 6-7.5: too cryptic/confusing...I cannot even begin to fathom what they mean.  I tried.
Clue 8: referring back to 6, and what comes to mind are lamps or lights
Clue 9: Song lyrics? A poem?  I tried googling it and all sorts of stuff came up for a guy named Drake.  I'm going to assume that this guy has nothing to do with this.

I'm rusty on my Shakespeare stuffs seeing as I haven't had to read any of it for...oh, gosh, now I feel old.  Nearly 15 years since I've read any of it.  I'm vaguely reminded of A Midsummer Night's Dream but that doesn't seem to fit well considering the season.

With the shells and baubles I'm immediately thinking of mermaids, but with the clues about walking and woods...well, a mermaid doesn't quite seem to fit.  Will o' the Wisp does.  They bob around, confusing travelers at night to follow them.

And like those travelers I am now officially lost.

Well I got dozens of illustrations, but a few stand out.
tinyurl.com/kxz2myp This has lamps in it, which again leads towards that.  Though the proper term would likely be "lantern".  So I'm gonna say "lantern" since the ones depicted are on little sticks and staffs.

Firstly: Can I just say:

Dear Renee,
you're brill..thx, (one of the reasons why I made d---m! sure you were featured in my "pocket guide"...(yr shop via link, also....)

Thanks again! for the typo correction...my house suffered an attempted "damage of property/attempted burglary" by some local racist youths the night before I was writing it, so was a bit "woozy and preoccupied" shall we say?... but life goes on right?... and this,  (b+k), blog was already 3 days overdue(personal deadline, not the group's...)... so therefore, btw, having said the above, and with no lack of respect whatsoever.. I shan't leave an "actual" reply to your comment @ the journal.. OK?

And:   don't worry,  the: "stick to the letter of the law" "Rule police", are never, ever, going to appear anywhere near my stuff!, just like @ "Bracelet's + Knots"( ..although, nonetheless: thank you for being "self-correcting" &  precise! I love that in people!).  The reason why I specify: "insert: "Entry", is because I can recognise the shape when my eyes get a bit tired sometimes as I'm "disabled" locomotively, and do a lot of teleworking.... so I can then react to inform the person asap of their success...or lack of it...OK?* :)...... (I'm about "Justice" not "Law"....)

*........which in your case is:

Entry: A Hat.....no...sigh..... a very plausible guess!  (bearing in mind my   DD'd Opera Hat....)
Entry: A Candleholder......getting warmer.:)..but still also, alas!.......no...sigh.....

Entry: A Mandala.......yay!.... still getting warmer, but in a  "different" direction..(hehe! ;)).but still also, alas!....no...sigh.....

0/3... oh! oh!    Sorry!  Nice try, especially "Candleholder" + "Mandala"...which, btw, is a fairly oblique clue for my macramé peer and creative sister....:)

Best Wishes!  (hi + respects to family....)

Ciao! Peter.

Please note: Important!... (and: keep guessing...! (I've got a "side-bet" on you... with my friend Jackie here in Devon....)

I'm putting a bonus  visual + text clue up.... (you heard it first! :) ....a little reward for helping me out with the typo...:)....you're welcome in my "press-room", front row, anytime ChaosFay!...... :)..).P.

I shall use your guesses as the next text clue for my bonus text+ visual clue to be posted in about an hour..... from time of comment...P.

hehe!  did you think it would be that easy darling!... erh!erh!....wrong... candlelight: chandelier....  come! come!...There's an awful lot of extremely talented people on DA... anything less than "tantalisingly enigmatic" evoking at least a reasonable minor outpouring of:

"D**n!", "C'est pas vrai!", "Ach der Teufel!", "Oh!, La Vache!" "Bug***!",  "S**t!", "Hija/o de P**a!",  "Eh ba, Me*de Alors!",  and a wave of other epithets I plead ignorance to in every language from Tchokwe to Thailandese! "Pixie talk to Polish,..."(LOTR) Elvish" to Ecuadorian, Vizcayan ...to Vogon... Ibicenco to Inuit...etc. ,

....would, in my estimation, be nothing short of "Insulting to their intelligence..." (including both(?) of ours, naturally(;) ) ...don't you agree?.....and

...lots of them would probably mean I'm doing my job fairly well, and I ought to, perhaps, give some serious thought to continuing* as an, Artisan.*

*(..absolutely!, .too be sure!: in a modest fashion...,  as I would appear to have, at the very least: ...Some Potential...?)

It looks similar to the lampshade you made as well as one of the potholders you've made.  Those would seem too obvious though.  it looks similar to a mandala and candleholder, but those aren't it either.  Josephine's Wall I think is in reference to the artist Josephine Wall, famous for her fantastical sculptures and paintings and faery figurines.  So this would seem to mix in with the fantasy and spiritual realm of things.  The shape also looks similar to something that reminds me of Buddhism and perhaps the various levels of enlightenment.  Maybe I'm reading too much into it.  Hmm...
Entry: Tree of Life interpretation
Entry: Faery House (that is a random guess, but this does remind me of one)
Entry: Hanging Altar
Entry: A totem of some sort
Entry: Another tree of lights, but hanging up this time, thought that would be a chandelier...and I think a lampshade is also out.
Entry: Porch Pull...that that would seem too simple. Then again sometimes it is the simple things that speak most loudly.

Those are my guesses for now.  I'll keep an eye on this to see more clues if mine don't hit the mark.

Oooooops!   Sorry!     ....now look amongst my work for a link......  (oblique as ever....) ..after you've read this....

I forgot to insert:  probably because it was one of those things so obvious one forgets to insert it assuming one has done so already... that your Josephine's Wall answer/ solving statement was entirely correct!, well done!

it did say, (in:   "Important notes" (you see..... the title is correct...;)...), that I will be revisiting my (this) Deviation Notes, My Project Educate Articles and My profile page Journal with further clues... ),

So there is a further clue entered which I will put in my artists comments, but have only actually,  told you about...

Here: "New Clue:  contained in "Important notes" and added at the end,  the clue is also dated at the beginning as "proof" that it's new, ....."  ;) P.

Well... It is clearly three dimensional and judging by picture 1 it is either quite big, or it is made from several separate peaces. It also seems to use up a lot of material. My first instinct is still a pot holder, ;P but it could also be a head piece.
